Scholarly Concentration (SC) Student Leaders are key partners in supporting the mission and activities of the Office of Student Professional Enrichment (OSPE). Each SC will have two to five Student Leaders, ideally representing both pre-clinical and clinical years.
Together, Student Leaders form the SC Student Leadership Team consisting of:
- Pre-clinical leaders that provide consistent, in-person engagement and visibility
- Clinical or returning leaders that serve as consultants and thought partners, offering guidance and support as needed
Student Leaders serve as liaisons between OSPE, SC Directors, and students within their concentration. They play a central role in communication, community-building, and student support.
Appointment Term
The SC Student Leader role is a one-year term typically running from August 1st - July 31st. The Student Leaders who demonstrate strong engagement, reliability, and effective fulfillment of responsibilities may be invited to continue for an additional term in consultation with OSPE and SC Directors. At the conclusion of appointment, Student Leaders are expected to support a thoughtful transition to incoming leaders, which may include sharing resources, insights, and best practices to ensure continuity within the concentration.
